A group from St. Luke will depart this week for Faith, Food and Wine of Italy with Rev. Jim Johnson. The pilgrimage will take place June 18 through 30th, 2026, with stops in Rome, Assisi, Tuscany, Florence, and Venice.
As they travel, you are invited to keep the group in prayer. Pray for safe travel, meaningful fellowship, good health, and open hearts as they visit places shaped by the deep history of the church, the beauty of creation, and the gifts of art, food, and culture.
The itinerary includes visits to sacred and historic sites such as the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, the Catacombs of St. Sebastian, Vatican City, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, Assisi, Siena, Florence, and Venice. The group will also enjoy time in Tuscany, including shared meals, local markets, wine tastings, and a cooking class.
This journey is not only a chance to see beautiful places. It is also a time for the travelers to grow in Christian fellowship, give thanks for the gifts of God, and reflect on the grace of Christ that meets us in every time and place.
Pr. Jim will be posting updates from the trip on a special blog, so you are encouraged to follow along as the group travels. In this way, the experience won’t be limited to those travelling, but shared with the larger community. Watch for stories, photos, and reflections from Italy in the days ahead.
May God bless the travelers, guide their steps, and bring them home safely with stories to share.
