Day 12 - The Long Journey Home

Most of the group left at 3am Sunday morning from Athens hotel and will arrive Spokane airport Sunday evening about 8:30pm. Don & Marla Imsland (Ellen’s cousins) had their flight canceled, but Elias helped them get on a different one. The first group didn’t experience illnesses on the trip, but several got sick on the travel home or after they got home. The second group passed around an illness during the trip, so hopefully it’s already out of our systems.

It’s been a long time being away from the rest of the parish. I’m grateful to all of the staff, especially Pr. Taran, for bearing the load in my absence. I’m grateful to the congregation for allowing these experiences. It’s been exhausting to plan and lead these trips, but so worth it to see relationships form and/or build, faith deepened, and world views expanded. I’m grateful for all the participants - for their grace toward one another, and toward me. I leave you all with some random pictures from throughout the trip. Blessings to all.
