Day 7 - Ephesus & Patmos
We began our day by going to Ephesus and seeing one of the largest ancient archeological sites in the world. Literally walking the steps of St. Paul, we gathered in the amphitheater and read Acts 19:23ff. It is very moving to hear those stories as you sit or stand in those very spots. We then visited the site of the ancient St. John’s cathedral where St. John’s tomb was below the altar. After returning to the ship we set sail for Patmos Island where we visited the cave of St. John where he wrote the Book of Revelation, followed by going to the top of the mountain and visiting the 11th century monastery dedicated to St. John. The highlight was Wiechert’s 30th Anniversary today. It was a great day! Happy anniversary Debbie & Brendon.
