Good News from the Lutheran Tumaini School
I received word from Pastor Moses this morning that their books have already arrived safely, and some of their materials (the bricks) for their wall. We were able to send them enough money to buy all of their needed text books, build their required wall, build a library, and supply some laboratory equipment for their science laboratories! Since we sent that money, more has come in – enough to provide two scholarships for girls to attend one year of school. I’m hoping St Luke will be willing to provide those scholarships each year ($800 per year per student) so that we can provide all 7 years (ages 12-18) of schooling for these two girls. They are so grateful for the materials and help. This is what Moses wrote this morning: “Dear Pr. Jim, Good News! Books are already here in Tumaini School. We thank God that they arrived safely. We are so happy and so appreciative to you all. Our dream of having sufficient books is being realized now. Asante sana (thank you)!” He also sent pictures of the bricks and wrote: “We are on stage with bricks to mobilize wall construction. We will be sharing with you as work proceeds.” I say, thank you all for your generous and inspiring support. I will keep you updated as Moses sends pictures and word of progress. God bless you all. – Pr. Jim
