Dates set for BBQ @ the Shelter
As the weather begins to warm, one of the most joyful outreach opportunities at St. Luke is returning. Last summer, the Shelter BBQ event was a well-loved and memorable service opportunity. Members and friends gathered outdoors, shared a meal, laughed with kids on the playspace, and helped create a sense of community for families staying at the Family Promise Shelter.
You are invited to be part of this again. New BBQ dates are now set for the coming warm season, and each one offers a simple but meaningful way to serve neighbors. The evening includes grilling dinner, sharing food together, and spending time with the children and families who are currently staying at the shelter. Everything is meant to be relaxed, welcoming, and full of conversation and connection.

Monday, April 20, 5:00 to 6:00 pm
Tuesday, May 19, 5:00 to 6:00 pm
Thursday, June 11, 5:00 to 6:00 pm
Whether you are new to this ministry or remember how much fun it was last summer, you are warmly encouraged to participate. These gatherings are a wonderful way to serve while simply enjoying time together outdoors.
Volunteers are also needed to help make each BBQ possible. Team leaders help organize the event, the food team shops and prepares the meal, and the play team helps lead outdoor games and activities with the kids. Your time and presence help create a welcoming community for families who need it most.
