Beginning Wednesday, June 24rd through Saturday, June 28th, the parking lot will be closed for restoration and sealing of cracks, as well as re-striping the parking spaces.
The church office will be closed on Thursday, June 25th while the bulk of the work is being completed. Visitors on Wednesday should park near the doors on Westview and call the church office to be let in.
This follows the completion of the new dedicated exit onto Graves. This modification removed two parking spaces, which was balanced out by the addition of two parking spaces gained by moving the wood worker’s shed off of the asphalt.
This maintenance is vital to complete before the winter months, with significant cracking appearing through large portions of the parking lot, to prevent larger potholes which can occur wherever water enters cracks, freezes, and expands. By proactively addressing this, we will prevent hazardous parking lot conditions, as well as the more costly repairs that would be needed to mitigate issues of that magnitude.
Please note that the parking lot will be open Sunday morning, with the work completed such that worship will not be affected.
It is our hope that the new exit, along with the meticulous upkeep of the parking lot, serve to welcome all who come to St. Luke with improved traffic flow and clearly delineated parking spaces.
