How St. Luke Supports Crosswalk Youth Shelter

Did you know?!… St. Luke supports Crosswalk Youth Shelter by providing dinner for teens experiencing homelessness on the fourth Sunday of each month. Crosswalk’s kitchen provides us with the ingredients they need to cook a large, family-style meal for all the residents at the shelter. St. Luke posts the list in the fellowship hall, and you–through your generosity and care, provide the supplies they need.

This monthly meal support is practical and consistent. Thanks to the generosity of the congregation, we take part in offering care, dignity, and nourishment to young people in our community.

You are invited to take part by checking the Sign Up Sheet on the Information Tower in the Fellowship Hall. Each month, the sheet will list what food items are needed and whether help is needed with delivery. Items may be dropped off at church by 11:00am on the designated Sunday. At the time of writing, this Sunday (June 28th) is the 4th Sunday!

In addition to monthly meals, St. Luke also supports Crosswalk through special seasonal drives throughout the year. These drives help provide specific items needed such as gloves, Kleenex, scarves, school supplies, lotion, shampoo, and other needed items. Your gifts help meet real needs and remind young people that they are seen, valued, and loved.

All of this ministry work is organized by our Love Thy Neighbor ministry. These volunteers work year-round to provide outreach from St. Luke in the ways most needed by our community. If you’re interested in contributing to those efforts, please contact Stefanie to learn how to get more involved.
