Sharing in Gratitude: Thanksgiving Baskets

This Thanksgiving, through Love Thy Neighbor Ministry, St. Luke has the opportunity to support 40 families in our community with complete holiday meals. These are the same 40 families who will later receive Christmas baskets and the gifts from our Tree of Sharing, making this an ongoing expression of care throughout the seasons.

You are invited to sign up to provide items for one of the meal baskets or to serve as a delivery driver.

Needed items include:

  • 10 lb bag of potatoes
  • 4 packets of dry turkey gravy mix
  • 2 boxes of Stove Top stuffing
  • 4 cans of green beans
  • 1 lb of butter or margarine
  • 2 cans of large pitted black olives
  • 2 cans of jellied cranberry sauce
  • 4 cans of peaches
  • 2 boxes (16 oz) of Jell-O
  • 1 container of Cool Whip
  • 1 jar (48 oz) of applesauce

Delivery drivers are also needed to bring the baskets to families on Tuesday, November 25, with pickup beginning at 5 p.m.

You may sign up to bring one of the above items, or to be a delivery driver, at the information tower in the Fellowship Hall.

If you’d rather contribute financially, monetary donations are also welcome and will be used to purchase remaining items. Marking “Thanksgiving Baskets” on your envelope will ensure it goes directly to this cause.

Your generosity makes a real difference. Thank you!
