Half of our group (those who need to be institutionalized) got up at 4am to go on a hot air balloon ride over/near the Valley of the Kings at Luxor this morning. The rest of us sane people went and met them as we visited the Valley of the Kings where we saw King Tut’s tomb with his mummified body still there, as well as three other tombs. We then visited an alabaster factory where they hand make vessels (cups, bowls, vases, etc.) out of alabaster. From there we visited another temple built into the side of a rock wall for a female Pharaoh (passing herself off as a man), Temple of Hatshepsut. We returned to our boat to set sail up the Nile. Fun fact: The Nile River flows north. So, as we set sail, heading south, we are going up the river, and therefore southern Egypt is known as Upper Egypt. As we remember all of our sisters and brothers back home on this Day of the Lord, we worship with you in spirit, celebrating the empty tomb.
