I skipped blogging yesterday because it was a travel day. We got up at 4am to fly from Aswan to Cairo and then take a “5 hour” bus ride that takes 7 to St. Catherine’s Monastery at Mt. Sinai. We had dinner right when we got there and went straight to bed because we got up this morning at 1am to leave at 1:30 to climb Mt. Sinai and returned by 8:30 for breakfast. Being on top of Mt. Sinai and seeing the sunrise with brothers and sisters in Christ was one of the highlights of all my travels – not just this trip. Incredible! After touring the monastery we loaded up and traveled by bus to Sharm el’ Sheikh to our resort on the Red Sea. Ten of our group leaves us at 1am tomorrow morning while the rest of us enjoy one full day at the Sea and then take a ferry to Jordan to continue our journey. The trip thus far has been an experience of a lifetime. And what a great group of people with whom to experience it.
