What’s Continuing This Summer?

Ministry never stops at St. Luke! Even as some groups enjoy a hiatus to renew, refresh, and ultimately regroup in the fall; other groups at St. Luke march on. But which ones?

This is your invitation to check out something new. Maybe you find yourself with a bit of extra time this summer and want to connect with new people. Here are some specific ministries to keep an eye on!

  • Family Promise
    • People experience homelessness throughout the year, and while winter is often a focus, the summertime is also a time of need for many families. Fortunately, it’s also a fantastic time to connect, serve, and care with a variety of unique-to-summer opportunities that include outdoor events and great food!
  • Karate
    • Word has gotten out! Mark is a wonderful instructor and all ages are enjoying Christian Karate at St. Luke.
  • Love-Thy-Neighbor Ministry
    • St. Luke stays active in the community year-long. This ministry serves a multitude of populations, quality local organizations, and individuals in need.
  • Pickleball
    • All ages, all skill levels! Learn the game and make new friends while you play!
  • Quilters
    • The multitude of amazing quilts doesn’t materialize from nothing. No! These folks make quilts all summer long in order to deliver just as many in the fall as they completed and presented this past spring!
  • Technology Booth
    • The summer is a great time to train in the booth. Everything from basic presentation skills to the finer elements of live production are available to learn, grow, and practice on!
  • Woodworkers
    • The nicer weather means the garage door can be flung wide open and lots of cool woodworking projects can continue!
  • Zumba Gold
    • Debby dances all summer long and invites you to join her! This is a great retirement-aged group that aims to bring some fun (and indoor, air-conditioned) physical activity to your weekly routine!

The list above isn’t exhaustive. Kids and youth ministry are very active this summer with VBS, service projects, and a mission trip. Other small groups may decide to continue meeting, too.

No matter what you decide to explore, you are encouraged and challenged not to “check out” until the fall when your favorite bible study or music group boots back up, and instead embrace the season and try something new!

So come, discover a new interest or group, and keep the love from St. Luke flowing throughout the summer into the community and beyond.
