Traveled to Arusha today, Friday – Lori arrives tonight
A full day of travel to get to Arusha today. Arrived at sunset to see Mt Meru above Arusha. Then drove an hour away to arrive at night at the hotel we’re staying at. Even in the dark I could tell it’s beautiful.
Arusha has quite a different terrain than where I’ve been thus far. It’s much more arid & not so forested as down south. Kilombero to Malinyi was very lush – almost jungle like. And you can tell the it was very poor where I was and here is much more affluent – bigger, nicer homes, paved roads, etc. some of that may be urban vs rural as well.
Lori arrives tonight. A two day journey from Spokane to here. We’ll stay here for two days to let her recoup before starting out on our safari. Can’t wait!
