Farewell to Tumaini
Today we left Tumaini Seminary to travel to Ifakara where the dioceses offices are. I met with the bishop and his staff, who were very gracious. I also got to see Pastor Eliud & meet his family (I showed he and Moses Priest Lake when they visited in ‘19). Tomorrow morning I will be taken to Kilombero where I will take a puddle jumper back to Dar es Salaam and then to Arusha where I will be joined with Lori (who flies out of Spokane this morning – Thursday morning – from Spokane).
The school had a sending ceremony for me, which was very kind and special. Different choirs sang & danced. Different people talked. There were pictures taken with various groups. And gifts were exchanged. They were incredibly gracious, and incredibly grateful to St Luke and all of the support that is transforming their school and future. On behalf of Tumaini, I share their Asante sana = “Thank you very much!”
