Israel to Jordan: Mt. Nebo & Hotel at Petra

We left Jerusalem and Israel early in the morning. It took a long time to cross the boarder. Once we did we make our way to Mt. Nebo where Moses, after leading the Israelites through the desert for 40 years, looked out at the Promised Land from the east side of the Dead Sea and Jordan River before dying. As desolate as the land can be there is a beauty to it in the midst of that desolation. After a long day on the bus we finally arrived to our hotel in Petra as the sun was setting behind the rugged mountains of Petra. Our hotel is a highlight – saving the best for last. Our only complaint about it is that we are only spending one night here. Tomorrow is the last day of our journey – seeing the ruins of Petra, one of the new seven wonders of the world.
