Rally Day is here! On Sunday, September 13, St. Luke kicks off a new programmatic year with opportunities for kids, youth, and adults to learn, reconnect, and grow in faith.
There is a lot happening throughout the building that morning. And, well, there is a lot to celebrate! Pr. Taran is back from sabbatical, and we look forward to hearing him share with the congregation a little bit about his time away. Sunday School and Youth Ministry begin their new year, Adult Education returns, Bible studies are getting underway, and our full worship schedule continues.
Join us for worship at 8:30, 10:00, or 11:15 am, with the 11:15 service featuring our modern worship format. The 10:00 service is also livestreamed.
Normally September means saying, “Welcome back!” to the 11:15 service after a summer break, but not this year! Our 11:15 modern service has continued all summer, and we are excited to carry that momentum straight into the fall. There is no change to our Sunday worship schedule for Rally Day: all three services continue as usual.
Sunday School begins September 13 from 10:00–11:00 am for children age 3 through 6th grade. Each week includes Bible stories, music, games, crafts, snacks, and plenty of opportunities to grow together in faith and friendship.
Families should register for the new school year even if they registered last year.
And there is more coming later that week for our older Kids Ministry students: 5th & 6th Grade Youth Group begins Wednesday, September 16, from 6:30-8:00 pm in The Den, with games, snacks, Bible-centered conversation, and fun. Friends are always welcome!
Rally Day is also the kickoff for middle and high school youth in grades 7-12. At 10:00 am, youth are invited upstairs to The Loft for a Rally Sunday Youth Breakfast, with breakfast, activities, and a chance to reconnect as the new school year begins.
Youth Ministry continues on Wednesday, September 16, beginning with Renew worship at 6:30 pm. After worship, high school youth will gather in The Loft, while 7th and 8th graders and their parents/guardians meet in the Fellowship Hall for an introduction to Youth Ministry at St. Luke and the basics of Confirmation.
All 7th–12th grade students should also complete 2026–27 Youth Ministry registration.
Rally Day isn’t just for kids and youth! Our Adult Education Hour returns September 13 from 10:00-11:00 am in the Genesis Room. Steve Zemke begins the year leading discussion around the Sunday lectionary readings, with leaders and topics changing throughout the year.
September also brings the return of Bible and book studies throughout the week, including the Acts Adult Study, Men’s Morning Breakfast & Book Study, Looking for Lovely Women’s Book Study, Adult Bible Study, Greek 201, and Martha Circle. Plenty to sink your preverbal teeth into.
Rally Day is a chance to reconnect after summer, welcome new faces, begin new routines, and celebrate the many ways God gathers us together at St. Luke.
Sunday, September 13 is a full morning: worship at all three services, Pastor Taran’s sabbatical wrap-up, Sunday School for age 3 through 6th grade, breakfast and activities for 7th-12th grade youth, and Adult Education. All that as a new year of ministry gets underway.
Welcome back!
