Day 12 - Transition Home
Most everyone woke early in the morning to leave for the airport to go home the USA. Two couples left a little bit later - one went to Rome for a few days, the other went to Istanbul for a few days. I stayed in Athens ‘til this evening when I will go to the airport to join Lori who is flying in from Spokane, and the two of us will then fly to Santorini late tonight and spend the next few nights in Oia ‘til we meet the next group flying into Athens from Spokane on Wednesday.
I started the day with breakfast on the rooftop restaurant, then hiked to Mars Hill to sit for about a half an hour before it got too hot, then found a barber shop to get a haircut, then walked endlessly to find somewhere that sells men’s electric razors (I lost the cord for mine somewhere along the way). I had some lunch along the way, then back for a shower, short nap, one last rooftop view, before catching a cab for the airport. I walked upwards of 20 miles today. I had a great day exploring the city, but can’t wait to spend a few days alone with Lori. I’m looking forward to the next group having had a great experience with the first group.
